As someone who has made a career out of advocating for children and a proud parent of three young children in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, I have an expectation that our school system will provide an excellent public education no matter what zip code they live in. I am running to be your School Board Representative because I value public education and know the change that it can bring to a child, family, and community. I promise to work with parents, teachers, and all of the community to ensure every voice is heard. I am a proud resident of Chatham County who chooses to raise my children here and help the next generation.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must prepare student to enter the workforce upon graduation. We need to understand that the workforce and economic needs are changing and our programs must continuously adapt to that change.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must strive to provide and promote the highest educational opportunities for all students. This can all be done by maintaining and enforcing high standards and accountability from the Superintendent to the part time substitute teacher.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must be good stewards of Chatham County taxpayer’s money. We must ensure that public funds are returned to the classroom as much as possible to improve outcomes and inspire learning. Fiscal responsibility needs to a priority.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must encourage growing relationships between families, the school district, and the surrounding community. Education is a shared responsibility and collaboration among the schools, community, and state agencies is vital for success.
Savannah-Chatham County Public School System must strive to have a positive, open, and honest relationship between students, families, staff, and administration. Every voice must be heard.
